Cheshire County Farms Competition 2017

Bradley Barns Nursery is pleased to announce that we have won the Cheshire County Farms Competition Diversification class.

This is a County wide competition for the best farm based alternative enterprise.

It strengthens the decision to have a nursery on our dairy farm whereby the two businesses can integrate and work side by side. We believe a farm based nursery can help our children understand where food comes from and our outdoor environment can enhance each child’s learning development.

With locally sourced food for our kitchen and the Nursery now employing eleven staff from within the immediate area we are proud to have won this award.

Summer School at Bradley Barns Nursery

With the Summer Holidays fast approaching Bradley Barns Nursery are offering a Summer School scheme running from 31/07/17 to 25/08/17. We have four separate activity weeks which include Mini Beast Week, Creative Week, Imagination Week and Nature Week utilising the most of our green farmland space that we have available.

We have different session times with additional hours available on top to suit. Please call or email the office for more details or alternatively come and have a friendly chat on our stand at Malpas Carnival this Saturday.

New Staff

We are pleased to welcome Karen, Chloe and Bev to our Nursery team. Karen will be based mainly in the Tawny Owls room and Chloe and Bev will be working closely with our Barn Owls to help transition them up to the Tawny Owls pre-school room.

Bradley Barns Nursery is happy to have them on board.

Malpas Carnival 1st July

We are participating in the Malpas Carnival this Saturday with a tractor driven float (driven by Farmer John) in the parade and our team and some of our children will be riding on the trailer. We will also have a stand on the main field so come along and find out more information about our fantastic Nursery! BBN

Bradley Barns Chosen Charity

We have decided to choose K.I.D.S (Kids Intensive Care and Decision Support) as our chosen charity.
We have chosen this charity as this is close to our hearts with one of our special little girls called Grace Buxton.
Our first big fundraising event will entail both Sarah the Manager and Jess, one of our Practitioners jumping for their lives from 30,000 feet out of a tiny plane!!

Please donate generously to http://www.gofundme/kids-intensive-care or alternatively http://justgiving.com/fundraising/Kidssponsoredskydive

Thank You!

Read Grace’s heartfelt story here:

A year ago today was honestly the worst day of my life. Grace had a Respiratory Arrest and collapsed in my arms, continuing to deteriorate as the day wore on.
We are so lucky to of come out the other side and still have her with us to be able to write this a year later. We cannot thank and praise the Doctors and Nurses who cared for her enough, especially the K.I.D.S team. So we wanted to try and give a little back!
John (Buck/ Bucko!) will be doing a sponsored skydive in May (he is petrified of heights!) and would love any support you could give, no matter how small any donation would be amazing!

Also I know a few of you mentioned that you may be interested in joining him, if you still are that would be great! All that’s asked is that you raise a minimum of £500 sponsorship, the more the merrier!

Please share with anyone you feel may want to be involved or donate
Lots of love The Buxton’s xx

Paediatric First Aid

Congratulations to Vicky who has just recently achieved her QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid through http://www.milliestrust.com. As it is not a necessity for all Early Years Practitioners to have a relevant first aid qualification we feel that it is an essential part of good practice in our premium childcare setting. This now means that all our staff are paediatric first aid trained. We will hopefully be running a Paediatric first aid course for parents through http://www.milliestrust.com in the not too distant future.
